Poetry Workshops

This intensive three-day conference features a variety of poetry and prose workshops, each with 10 or fewer participants. This is a conference where you write!  Of course you will receive feedback, but our workshops emphasize creating new material. Choose one workshop to focus on during the conference. Our programs fill quickly. Register today. You won't regret it.

Poetry Writing Workshops

The poetry writing workshops are at the heart of the Getaway. Each morning you gather with the other poets to discuss a packet of poems. Then Peter gives one of his imaginative, challenging prompts and sends you off to write. After lunch you can keep writing or attend your workshop group to get feedback on your new poem.

In addition, your tuition includes a twenty minute tutorial with one of our faculty who will give you a constructive critique on a poem in progress.

Poetry Writing - Filled*
Stimulating assignments will start you writing. Positive feedback will help you revise your new poems into more mature literary works. Your tuition also includes a one-on-one tutorial which you can sign up for after you arrive at the Getaway.
Limited to 10 participants per section - Led by members of our Poetry Faculty

Advanced Poetry Writing
Same motivating assignments, but the level of critique will be more intensive. This is for those who have had both poetry writing and workshop experience. You will be able to list your faculty preferences, if any, during the registration process. Your tuition also includes a one-on-one tutorial which you can sign up for after you arrive at the Getaway.
Limited to 10 participants per section

Led by members of our Poetry Faculty including:
    ● Laure-Anne Bosselaar
    ● Kurt Brown
