Writing workshop in New Jersey

Creative Nonfiction - Filled*
Creative nonfiction, which includes memoir, personal essay, travel and
food writing and narrative journalism, does not need to be
earth-shattering to be compelling; it just needs to be well-told, true
stories. During this supportive workshop, we will have the opportunity
to observe, imagine and recreate as we explore strategies for generating
new writing. We will work on exercises designed to tap into our
memories, experiences and ideas, practice new storytelling techniques
and learn how fictional tools help the creative nonfiction writer. As we
share our developing stories, we will discuss how to expand them into

Amanda Morris, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the
English Department at Kutztown University in southeastern PA,
the Director of the University Writing Center and a professional
writer with two decades of publishing experience in newspapers,
trade journals, literary publications, web sites and many more.
Her recent work has appeared in the anthology
Western Pennsylvania Reflections and scholarly journals
such as Rhetoric Review and Epiphany. She

teaching, advising, assessing, directing, researching or
writing, she loves doing home improvement projects, fishing for
sharks in Delaware Bay and gardening.
